Shira and Jon wanted a wedding that truly represented their ethos as a couple – outdoor loving, eco-friendly, welcoming, fun, adventurous, creative and Jewish. We’d been so excited to photograph their wedding ever since a few idyllic hours spent with them for the Engagement Shoot when their infectious enthusiasm clearly rubbed off!

They held their wedding at home. Well… next to their beautiful Brickendon cottage in the adjoining land near where Jon proposed to Shira at the edge of the forest. From the homemade decorations to the home-brewed gin, from Shira’s sister’s band ensuring everyone stayed on the dance-floor, to the fresh rustic treats provided by Saffron Catering, this was a truly personal affair.

Busses delivered the London guests into Hertfordshire, whilst much of Shira’s family flew in from abroad for the beautiful occasion. It was great for us to see some old friends at the wedding, with the Master of Ceremonies for the evening being Jamie, whose wedding to the lovely Nicola we photographed earlier in the month.
