Preview: Shayna and Jonny’s London City Wedding

By

On Sunday, we were privileged to photograph the beautiful wedding of Shayna and Jonathan, two people who I’ve known personally for a number of years since before they got together – and they really make an exceptional couple. The wedding took place at Middle Temple Hall in the heart of London’s legal quarter, one of the four ancient Inns of Court. It’s a truly historic place, built between 1562 and 1573 and virtually unchanged having survived the Great Fire of London and both World Wars. Crucially, so my female friends tell me, the Bridget Jones proposal scene was filmed there!

It was crucial to Shayna and Jonathan that their wedding could be outside, and the London weather held out to make this wish come true – an Orthodox Jewish ceremony under a Chuppah taking place in the gorgeous gardens which back on the River Thames. Music for the evening was provided by Neshama, with consummate toastmaster Mike Jacobs, who we’ve worked with many times, making sure everything ran smoothly. Once the guests had said their goodbyes to the lovely couple, we went for a stroll and took some late night portraits around the area, including in front of the purple-lit Royal Courts of Justice.

Expect a full post once the images have been edited and delivered, in the meantime here is a selection of edited preview images we sent to Shayna and Jonathan on their first day as man and wife…
