Preview: Nadia and Adam’s Amazing Westminster Wedding
ByWhat a day! Nadia and Adam were married yesterday in an emotional, high-energy, humorous, epically fun, spiritually uplifting, party-filled day at the beautiful Park Plaza Westminster Bridge hotel in central London, overlooking the Houses of Parliament. Being a very sociable couple, with parents heavily involved in their communities, this was a big wedding – it called for a team of three photographers to capture every moment.
We knew from their Engagement Shoot a couple of months ago that Nadia and Adam like to have fun, so we’ve been buzzing about this wedding for a long time. It seemed that music was always going to play an important part in this special day, and it really did… from Justin Timberlake being played through Nadia’s iPod in the morning, to Chazan Avromi Freilich singing beautifully under the Chuppah, the Ushers’ magnificent rendition of “All You Need Is Love” on the kazoo, and the truly breathtaking Festival Mibely from Paris absolutely rocking the party with a repertoire ranging from Jewish classics such as Vehi She’amda to House of Pain’s hip-hop classic, Jump Around!
It was also a big pleasure for us to work alongside Arieh Wagner and his team, who expertly produced the wedding as well as making sure all the guests enjoyed exquisite food throughout. Thanks Arieh for keeping our team well fed!
Unusually, and slightly awkwardly for someone who likes to stay behind the camera and out of the limelight, I was name-checked on the microphone not one but twice during the evening. Simon, a part-time Usher and full-time joker, whose wedding to Jennifer we had the pleasure of photographing earlier this year, literally started off his speech by saying… “Blake the photographer heard a very similar thing at our wedding a few months ago. So if you want an unbiased opinion on which was better, or indeed to discuss your wedding photography and see if he’s free, go to him. He is paying me to say this… and he’s not free.” Nadia also spoke beautifully at the end of the evening, thanking everyone involved in the wedding. She included some very kind words about what I do, which is hugely appreciated and I hope will be repaid with a stunning set of photographs.
Nadia and Adam are brilliant, they’ve been amazing to spend time with and we’re honoured to have been entrusted to photograph their wedding. Here is a selection of our of favourite shots…
