It’s New Year’s Day: Our 2013 in Pictures
ByIt is New Year’s Day, the dawn of a new year for us all. So there’s no better time to recap a few key moments in the last year at Blake Ezra Photography, as well as sharing a few of our favourite photos taken by our team throughout the year.
It has been a monumental 12 months for us, cementing our position as one of the top names in event photography across Europe. Our team has grown, most notably with the addition of eight high quality Associate Photographers, each with their own specialities, but most importantly people I’ve known for some time and who I trust to exceed our clients’ expectations. Last week we received an enquiry for the end of 2016, so it seems that word is spreading about what we’re trying to achieve and for that we thank all of you.
In 2013 we photographed events in such prestigious locations as the top floor of the BT Tower, Grosvenor House Hotel, 10 Downing Street, The Savoy, Houses of Parliament and The Dorchester, as well as 35 incredible and unique weddings from Cornwall to Cheshire. We photographed important moments including the first ever meeting between Prime Minister David Cameron and Chief Rabbi Ephraim Mirvis, and the official opening of JW3. We’ve been privileged to work with brands including Harrods, Lulu Guinness, My 1st Years and RayBan.
The list of people who’ve posed in front of our lenses in 2013 also includes Sir Anish Kapoor, Disclosure, Ewan McGregor, Douglas Alexander MP, Louis Smith, The Archbishop of Canterbury, Emeli Sande, Lord Dyson, Kevin Spacey, Ambassador Daniel Taub, David Baddiel, Lord Neuberger, Mayor of London Boris Johnson, Lord Alan Sugar, Olivia Godfrey, Ronna and Beverley, Rabbi Sacks, David Schneider, Lord Michael Grade, Alan Yentob, Colin Murray and many many others. No less important are the many private clients whose special occasions we have been privileged to photograph over the course of 2013.
Personally, this past year has seen the most important moment I have ever photographed, and by some distance – the birth of our first child, Ziggy. Don’t worry, those images won’t be appearing online, but some subsequent images of our beautiful little man will.
We have delivered over 65,000 fully edited images to our clients this year, so trawling through and finding a definitive ‘best’ selection was always going to be an impossible task. It’s a task so tricky that I’ve decided instead to simply display a selection of highlights of our year, and to give a flavour of what we’ve been up to. Here’s to an amazing 2014!
