On Sunday just gone, our team were lucky enough to be part of a very special night indeed. It was Benji’s Bar Mitzvah at Kinloss in north London, and again the Jewish community of Stanmore were out to celebrate the coming of age of this brilliant young man with his much-loved family. For regular readers of this blog, you may have heard mentions of Stanmore’s Jewish community before, and when they decide to have a party they go for it big style. Benji and his family are clearly adored by those around them, and this came across all night – the energy in the room was immense.

From traditional Jewish dancing bordering on raucous, to live performances from family members, planned surprises involving masses of friends and meaningful yet hilarious speeches, this was a night to cherish. The only time in the entire evening the dance-floor was empty was during the ‘Grace After Meals’, at which point everybody was standing on their chairs! It was a real pleasure for us to be involved in Benji’s special event – from the portrait shoots at home and in the synagogue, to this spectacular party which at times felt more like a rave than a Bar Mitzvah! He’s a credit to his family, who in turn are a credit to their community.

The awesome team at Uptown Events not only made the room look stunning, but ensured the music was pumping, glow sticks and hats were circulated, and that everything went perfectly to plan. We look forward to working alongside them on many events in the future. It was also our pleasure to work with John Rose at Video Magic for the very first time. A special well done to Steph and Emma for some amazing shots throughout the evening.
