My name is Emma, I am currently an apprentice at Blake Ezra Photography.

From a very young age, photography has fascinated me, I always enjoy picking a camera up and seeing the type of shots I can capture. I’ve always had more of a creative eye and wanted to have a job where I could be up and doing something. When studying photography at school in my A Level, I realised this was the passion I wanted to pursue as a career. For me, I knew I didn’t want to go to University, I just wanted to get straight to the job and develop while gaining as much experience as possible. This is when I decided the best opportunity for me to develop my skills would be to do an apprenticeship. When the opportunity to work at Blake Ezra Photography came up, I applied after looking at the type of photography he did, I was amazed by the wedding shots and glad he did business/ commercial and studio photography as primarily this is what I wanted to get into.

I have now worked at Blake Ezra Photography for nearly 5 months and have really enjoyed working alongside Blake, Charlotte, Lindsay and Steph.

Through this apprenticeship I have been to many events from Business Breakfasts at The Park Lane Hotel to an all day Business Conference in Mayfair. I have also been part of the Blake Ezra Photography team covering the Chai Cancer Care Annual Dinner at The Lancaster London, it was wonderful to be there, photographing the Jersey Boys and getting an insight into the type of photography Blake and the team do whilst helping out behind the scenes.

In the future, I hope to become more experienced and, confident, skilled and creative photographer and editor. I would primarily be a family and portrait photographer where I can use a photography studio and go on location for shoots. Also photographing products and buildings for businesses and any portraits for businesses websites. In 1-2 years, I aim to become more confident to be happy to photograph and edit a wedding comfortably. I am very grateful for this opportunity to work with Blake Ezra Photography, I have learnt so much already and am looking forward to learning more and gaining experience.
