Beyond all the choices, special touches, hilarious speeches and great celebrations, one thing makes for a truly beautiful wedding – the Bride and Groom. Elizabeth and Michael set the tone for this magnificent day, both wonderfully warm, hugely relaxed, very funny, and madly in love with one-another. Our team were privileged to photograph this gorgeous occasion which took place at the New West End Synagogue and The Landmark, two top-notch venues in which to get married… and then party like crazy.
Our day started off at Elizabeth’s family home, which was as relaxed as can be. Then onto the synagogue at St. Petersburg Place, a place we’re privileged to be at relatively often. It is only the second synagogue to achieve Grade 1 listed status and has been described by English Heritage as “the architectural high watermark of Anglo-Jewish architecture”. It’s truly beautiful. There we witnessed some flocking amongst the ushers, a Tisch for the men, an overwhelmingly emotional Bedeken ceremony, and of course the wedding ceremony featuring the vocals of Chazan Avromi Frelich. From there it was on to The Landmark on Marylebone Road.
At the hotel we spent a few moments making some portraits of Elizabeth and Michael. It’s always an immense privilege, and a responsibility we never ever take for granted, that in the first few moments of a couple’s married life they place their trust in us to encapsulate them as a newly married couple, producing images they’ll love forever and share with future generations.
Keeping everyone entertained throughout the evening were Muzika, a wonderful show-band as slick as they come, and musically exceptional. Throughout the evening they casually dropped in some upbeat versions of traditional Hannukah songs, and even ‘All I Want For Chirstmas’. This was the first wedding we’ve been to where both Christmas and Hannukah songs were played, and danced to with equal gusto. Muzika absolutely rocked it, as they never fail to. Amazing food and drink was provided all evening by James Zimmer, including the lovely touch of a Menorah with donuts on every table as desert was also served. It was a pleasure again to work alongside the team from Atmotion, creating a beautiful film from the day.
Mazal Tov again to everyone involved, we adored being a part of the wedding. Here are a few of our favourite images as an early preview…
