Dear Friends: Punteha and Andy Tie The Knot
ByIt’s very rare in life that you get the opportunity to see two dear friends get married to one another; two people you’ve known since before they realised they were madly in love with each other. It’s even more rare to be entrusted with the honour of photographing this moment. However, that honour came around yesterday, as Punteha and Andy got married at Broxbourne Registry Office followed by a relaxed lunch at the lovely Goffs Oak in Waltham Cross.
As many of you may know, I used to be exclusively a breaking news and magazine feature photographer. Eight years ago I joined at INS News Agency, covering all manner of subjects for the national press – from royal commissions to street crime. A few desks away just past the Kenco coffee machine, was the Features department, which housed two budding young writers called Punteha and Andy. We’ve all moved onto pastures new since then, and much has changed, but seeing these two come together and get married yesterday was truly joyous. You’d be hard pushed to find two more genuine, caring, honest and loving people and we’re beyond thrilled that they’re embarking on the journey of life together as one.
They were married in a beautiful ceremony surrounded by eighteen of their nearest and dearest, and we all look forward to the epic day of celebrations that’s to come next year. Here are a few of our favourite images from the day, congratulations again to Punteha and Andy, and all their family…
