Zest in the City: Eran Tibi at Bevis Marks
ByLast night our team of Blake and Amanda photographed a truly fun event, as Eran Tibi the Executive Chef of Zest at JW3 put on a wonderful cooking demonstration for guests at the historic Bevis Marks Synagogue. For us personally, this was the culinary coming together of numerous clients and friends. As the official photography team at JW3 we have worked with Eran, Davina and the amazing Zest team for a long time, and yesterday they were being hosted by the enigmatic Rabbi Joseph Dweck and the Spanish and Portuguese Jews’ Congregation. We were privileged to photograph a very special family occasion for the Dweck family recently, as his son Isaac was Bar Mitzvah at Lauderdale Road Synagogue.
Back to the food… Eran is a dynamo, a truly passionate cook of modern Sephardi cuisine whose recipes and combinations come from the heart. He impressed the importance of not being too rigid with recipes, with experimenting by substituting items from the same food groups, and of using saffron… expensive but worth it! Zest has been a roaring success, one of many successes housed within the glass frontage of JW3. It has received rave reviews from Giles Coren and Jay Rayner in the national press and is usually very busy whenever our team are at JW3 to photograph an event. Book, go, the food is amazing.
Bevis Marks is set to become a hub for more social and educational events such as this one, and we’d love to cover them. A wonderful evening was had by all, in a revered and historic location, and we were privileged to be there. Here are a few of our favourite images…
