Blake was back on the Royal Rota this week to photograph a very prestigious visit, as HRH Camilla Duchess of Cornwall visited the wonderful Holocaust Survivors Centre in north London. Being no stranger to Royal commissions, and being very familiar with the community of Holocaust Survivors in the UK, this was a real treat for us to be involved in.
Her Majesty spent around an hour chatting to members of the centre, many of whom she had met previously at various memorial events. She was warm and interested, charming and witty, making everybody feel at ease whilst genuinely seeking to connect on a meaningful level with these Holocaust survivors and the atrocious experiences they had been through.
The Duchess was addressed and thanked by President of Jewish Care, Lord Levy; she then took the microphone to say a few words, warmly thanking everybody for their hospitality, empathising with their past, and being proud of Great Britain for providing a safe-haven in which they could rebuild their shattered lives.
Here are a few of our favourite images from a magnificent afternoon…
