Our team of Amanda, Blake and Leela spent a long weekend in Mallorca, photographing an exclusive wedding for a wonderful couple. Of course there’ll be many more images to come, but here’s one shot from Finca Comassema, a beautiful private estate in a region so historic, the first references to the Finca date from the period of the conquest by Jaime I in 1229.
Finca Comassema is situated in one of the wildest and most privileged places in the northern mountain range of Mallorca, the Sierra de Tramuntana, declared by UNESCO in 2011 as a World Heritage Site in the Cultural Landscapes category, due to such emblematic places as Orient.
Beyond this, it’s a stunning venue for a celebration, and we wanted to share this image by Blake of the party going late into the night. Our photography isn’t only about the close-ups and it isn’t only about the small details – broad overviews are always needed in order to tell a full story, and we love the energy in this shot, effectively doubled by the reflection in the water below. To achieve this image, Blake used remote control lighting to add a real ‘kick’ to the dance floor.
