Yesterday evening our team of Amanda and David were in Knightsbridge at the wonderful Jumeirah Carlton Tower, to photograph the prestigious Annual Dinner of ORT UK. A packed room of 250 guests were treated to top class hospitality as they learned more about this long-established and incredibly worthwhile charitable organisation.
For over 130 years, ORT has been educating people in the skills they need to gain employment and so support themselves, their families and their communities, breaking the cycle of poverty and charitable dependence. At the present time, over 300,000 students in 37 countries across the globe are educated by ORT every year.
Specialised in technology, ORT helps vulnerable communities to become self-sufficient by educating and training their members in the skills they need for life. This evening focused on raising funds for STEM Education – that is Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths, and also for Jewish education programmes in 17 schools across the former Soviet Union. The wonderful short film by Fantastic Films showed in detail not only the incredible work that ORT do, but that there is still much to achieve.
Well done to Adam Overland Kaye, Muriel Stempel and the entire ORT UK team for a fantastic event, which we hope raised huge resources for those in need. If you’d like to donate to ORT UK, click here.
