Millie Finger was born and raised in the East End of London. She personally requested that Blake was on hand to photograph her 100th birthday party in Stepney, and it was his honour to be there – what a character she is, with a smile that can light up a room. A true gem, loved by all her friends.

Sadly, her daughter passed away a few years ago and the only family she has left is a niece and nephew neither of whom live nearby.

So, determined to give her the celebration she deserves, the amazing staff and volunteers at Jewish Care’s Stepney Day Centre reached out on facebook and in turn, Millie received over 1,500 birthday messages. Speaking to those present at a wonderful afternoon of tea and cake, Millie movingly said: “It’s marvelous what everyone has done for me. I love you all. Thank you.”
