iCycle8: The European Schwinnvasion
ByOn the weekend, an army of lycra-clad cyclists descended upon historic St. Albans to push their quads to the limit in an eight hour series of standing climbs and seated flats, all accompanied by some of the most eclectic and pumping music we have ever heard. It could only mean one thing, this was iCycle8.
Organised by the amazing Angela and Stefano of Cycle Zone Studio in Battler’s Green Farm, Radlett, this event saw 115 Schwinn bikes and 135 riders fill the hall at Westminster Lodge Leisure Centre. The day started with some incredible performances by local young people, singing and dancing to inspire the many cyclists in the room. A series of international master instructors took to the stage throughout the day, with everyone involved having such positive energy.
On a personal note, many of our readers and clients will have been looked after by Yamit in the planning stages and follow up for their events. Yamit became a one-person team, cycling every hour of iCycle8 herself in aid of Overcoming Multiple Sclerosis. Yes, she is a real-life hero. It’s not too late to read her story and make a donation to this fantastic cause, click here for her Just Giving page.
