BB13: Ben’s Funfair Bar Mitzvah at One Marylebone

By

Roll up roll up! Ladies and Gentlemen, boys and girls, we present Ben’s Funfair Bar Mitzvah at One Marylebone – what a night it was! Planned with creativity and infectious energy by the team at Just Seventy, this was a truly remarkable evening.

But firstly, let’s rewind. Whenever our team photograph a Bar Mitzvah, we always include at least one pre-shoot before the big day. This allows us to get to know the man-of-the-moment and his family, to create some images that depict these early teenage years as well as capture the all-important synagogue shots as a young man reads from the Torah for the first time.

We were lucky enough to spend some quality time with Ben and his awesome family before the main event, doing a sunset football shoot with Ben, a synagogue shoot with Ben and his dad, and also photographing a lunch for close friends and family at home. Here are a few favourite images from the fortnight leading up to the Bar Mitzvah, followed by the main celebration.

The football shoot…

At the synagogue…

The luncheon…

Back to the incredible party, in a grand space which looked so spectacular thanks to the vision of Just Seventy, and the utter genius of Rob and all our friends at Rob Van Helden Floral Design. This was an evening of fun, with Josh Lever ‘The Event Presenter’ bringing his unique brand of energy to the microphone, great music performed by DJ Live, and magnificently original dishes conceptualised and served by Food Story. A particular highlight was the hysterical and incredibly made video featuring so many of Ben’s friends and family singing along to rewritten Disney tunes. It was all arranged and written remarkably by Ben’s sister Jessy – brought to life by the amazingly talented team at Gavsy Creative Media, who we love working with. ‘Tottenham For Life!’

Every detail was thought about on the evening, with Darren and the team at Invitation London creating bespoke graphics, logos and stationery for the event.

It was an honour for our team of Amanda, Blake, Elicea, Joe and Sophie to be involved in such a brilliant evening, one which will live long in the memory for all who attended. We wish a huge Mazal Tov to Ben and his whole family!
