Tori and Oliver: A Landmark Wedding at Old Billingsgate

By

Ever since we heard about Tori and Oliver’s wedding, we knew it would be a seriously spectacular occasion. Not only are Tori and Oliver two of the most positive, community-orientated and engaging people you could meet, but their respective families are each held in the highest regard. It seems like the entire Jewish community of the UK descended on Old Billingsgate by the River Thames, to witness an emotional ceremony in the London sunshine led by Rabbi James Proops, and then dance the night away without a care in the world.

We already knew Tori’s family and extended family very well, having photographed two of her wonderful first cousins’ weddings – Natasha who married Jason last year, and Sophie who married James a few months ago. It was clear that the Kahn family are popular, generous and extremely respected. What we didn’t know before this day is that Oliver’s family are equally wonderful – and deeply loved by their many friends. Bring all of this together, and what we witnessed was one of the biggest events of the year in London. For our team of Adam, Amanda, Blake, Devon and Joe, this was an epic day and we were so thrilled to see a huge amount of clients and friends from the previous few years enjoying this magnificent wedding.

Tori got ready for the day ahead at the amazing The Ned, a five star hotel in the City of London converted from a former bank by the uber-cool Soho House group. She looked like a model in her Browns Bride dress and Jimmy Choo shoes, whilst Oliver prepared with his family at home and looked extremely dapper. The wedding exuded massive energy all the way through to the afterparty which finished at 2am, we expected a few ‘hardcore’ friends to stay behind for this post-midnight event, but a couple of hundred people downed shots and packed the second dance floor!

This occasion, planned by our friend Jo Woolfe, simply overwhelmed the senses… the sheer scale of 400 guests each celebrating like it was their own family occasion was something to behold. The Chuppah was positioned in front of Tower Bridge and alongside The Shard, possibly London’s most famous icons. The incredible Muzika Showband absolutely rocked the house, as they always do. There were more Rabbis in attendance than a busy day in Jerusalem, showing the true esteem both families are held in. Incredible florals by Petalon Flowers transformed the space whilst gorgeous calligraphy by luxury bespoke stationers Flourish and Plume added to a sense of elegance. Food Story pulled out all the stops with their fine dining experience to leave every guest content and impressed. Behind the video cameras were the team from Atmotion, and we are sure they’ll deliver a beautiful film that Tori and Oliver will enjoy for many years to come.

A big Mazal Tov from all of us at Blake Ezra Photography to Tori and Oliver, and both wonderful families. You’ve all been nothing short of incredible to work with and we feel honoured to have been part of this landmark occasion.

We are, as ever, very proud of the creativity, professionalism and passion shown by our entire team on the day, our retouchers, and all those who look after our clients behind the scenes. We strive to make our clients happy and produce stunning sets of wedding photographs. Get comfortable, and prepare to enjoy some of our favourite shots from such a special day…
