Up In The Clouds: Gaby and Ben at The Dorchester

By

To say we had been looking forward to this day at The Dorchester for a long time would be the understatement of the year. We first met Gaby and Ben at Ariella and Josh’s wedding in December 2016, which in itself was beyond spectacular. Little did we know at the time that just weeks later, Ben would propose to Gaby and the planning for another epic occasion would begin. We knew this would be a day which moved at a million miles per hour, with inconceivable levels of detail in the decoration, with a spirit and energy so palpable it could take your breath away, and where guests were treated to the best of everything. As a couple, Gaby and Ben have been so amazing to be around – staring off with such a fun Pre Wedding Shoot in London, some of the images from which we’ll include below.

Gaby’s family are phenomenal, and they don’t do things by halves – we have loved getting to know them over the last two years. Ben’s family are also great fun and highly respected – they seemed to bring most of Manchester down to London to celebrate.

Ben Krieger and Katy Cresner alongside the team from Outrage Events were tasked with bringing together all the elements for this spectacle, and they did so seamlessly. Our team for the day brought so much talent and dedication, and included Adam, Amanda, Ben, Blake, Devon, Elicea, Kris and Suzanne. We began bright and early with Ben at Western Marble Arch Synagogue as he started his day with intention and meaning, our teams then spent time with Gaby in her suite at The Dorchester and Ben at the Athaneum nearby, before everything converged upon Park Lane for an unforgettable day. Gaby, who looked utterly regal in her bespoke Suzanne Neville gown, was ably made up by the brilliant make up artist Sarah Field and the equally-brilliant hair stylist Zoe Norris, who stayed for most of the day to assist during photographs – thank you Zoe for being as amazing as ever.

The scene was set for a celebration of unparalleled proportions, with Andy and the huge team from Wild About creating a floral heaven in an already-grand space, from the stairs in the Ballroom entrance covered in an overflowing wave of flowers, to wall of flowers and mirrors which made up the table plan. Then there was the grand backdrop with floral arch created for the Bedeken, and the canopy of wisteria above the aisle leading to a jaw-dropping Chuppah which stood in front of giant floral wall – such an incredible backdrop for a ceremony. The Ballroom was turned around after the ceremony to reveal a breath-taking forest of colour, with sections of the room raised up for a better view of the speeches, and most crazily… giant clouds of flowers hanging over the dance-floor. Then there was something else we’d never seen before, the wall of flowers out of which glitzy-gloved hands emerged, passing shots to guests as they partied the night away.

Yes, the scene was magnificent, but like every incredible Simcha, it was the family and friends who brought the energy.

The ceremony itself was a beautiful occasion, with emotions highly charged as our great friend Rabbi Lionel Rosenfeld officiated proceedings, with ethereal music from the incredible Shloime Gertner and a brief appearance from the Shabbaton Choir.

The team from Tony Page ensured that guests were meticulously looked after, from a stunning reception through to an exquisite meal, the ‘shot wall’ by the dance floor and the late-night Shawarma buffet as a final flourish. Our friends the Muzika Showband absolutely rocked the party from start to finish, bringing incredible musicianship to the dance-floor in the clouds. The talented team from Atmotion Productions, with whom we work regularly, were behind the video cameras and we are so excited to see the film they produce.

It has been such a pleasure working with Gaby’s family in the build-up to this special day, and getting to know Gaby and Ben, we wish you all a huge Mazal Tov! Without further a do, get comfortable, here are some of our favourite images from our pre-wedding shoot, and then the incredible wedding itself…
