Love in a Lighthouse: Abi and Phil’s Incredible Wedding

By

From the very beginning, we always knew this wedding would be full of personal touches, and that real thought would be given to those parts of the day most cherished by Abi and Phil. It was always going to be a great party with a fantastic atmosphere, but the day surpassed all expectations.

It was just so personal, in the amazing surroundings of Trinity Buoy Wharf with iconic Canary Wharf across the River Thames, and London’s only lighthouse which Abi and Phil scaled after their ceremony. The ceremony itself was very special, expertly led by the inspirational Rabbi Sam Lebens yet with personalised blessings and even a surprise performance by the TOTEM Gospel Choir featuring YAMIT as Abi walked down the aisle and just before the glass was smashed so comprehensively.

Eagle eyed viewers may notice that Blake Ezra was very involved in many parts of this wedding, but never behind the camera, which left our incredible team to document the magic. It was a pleasure to be alongside Leor Films who we know will bring his own creative take to the video.

There were some serious facial expressions throughout the day. Oh, and when we say “serious”, we mean fun. Outrageously fun. Present at this super-fun day were many notable guests, including numerous couples whose Chuppahs we have been honoured to stand under, including the amazing Donna and Mark, who asked Blake to shoot their wedding all the way back in 2010 when he didn’t ‘do’ weddings. Apparently, you never forget your first.

Abi and Phil did much of the planning themselves, but did bring in the lovely Hannah Flax as an on-the-day co-ordinator, ensuring everything ran seamlessly. The space looked amazing thanks to florals from Sarah Maylin adorning the long rustic tables, whilst during the preparations Abi had the expert help of our friends Philippa Louise Make Up and the brilliant Zoe Norris – who becomes not just a hairdresser but more of a friend who helps at every stage. Guests were served with incredible sharing platters from Zest, so enjoyed by all.

Despite this blog being rather professional, the day was very personal. Abi and Phil light up a room, they enhance those around them and are so committed to the causes in which they believe. They are doers, people of absolute substance and strong morals. This is a couple who will always find time and energy to help others, to spend time with those they love. Abi is one of life’s characters – so caring and as principled as she is hilarious. Phil is just so… Phil, starting his day with brunch, and taking off his shirt just before his speech to reveal a ‘Can Men Be Funny’ t-shirt. In brief, they are extremely special and loved by so many.

Mazal Tov to these two legends and both families. Here are some of our favourite images from an exceptional day…
