Comedy for a Cause: Donnie’s Fund

By

Last night Blake was honoured to be at the Bloomsbury Theatre for an amazing evening of comedy, all to support the incredible Donnie’s Fund.

Donnie was born on Thursday 20th April 2017, he had Edwards Syndrome and was not expected to live more than a few days or weeks. Donnie lived for 142 days and died on 8th September 2017. Upon his death, his inspirational parents Ruth and Marcel established Donnie’s Fund, which aims to support families in neonatal intensive care at University College Hospital London, and to further the dialogue on medical ethics for such cases. Back to last night, over 500 people were entertained by wonderful compere Rachel Creeger and great line up of comics: Robert White, Sindhu Vee, Fin Taylor, Nigel Ng, Stuart Goldsmith and Sara Pascoe.

It is beyond inspiring to see how Ruth and Marcel have taken such a tragic and challenging experience, and turned it into a force for good – trying to help as many families as possible, with a smile and with genuine kindness. Donnie’s Fund will make a real difference to families going through the toughest of times, by funding projects like cloud-based camera systems on cots and incubators, so parents can check on their baby from home, or paying for local hotel rooms on the weekend so perhaps parents who couldn’t usually afford to stay near can do so.

Respect to the Property Professionals Business Club for sponsoring the evening too, ensuring as much of the fundraising efforts as possible go directly to helping others. Please consider donating to this most deserving cause, by clicking HERE
